In June 2020 one of UK's most well known Pub & Hotel chains failed to pay the 2 year old invoice below, what's even more shocking is that Thwaites failed to stop this damning indictment see the light of day.
The Creditor hopes that after waiting 2 years this recently updated Thwaites humiliating network will cause Daniel Thwaites Plc Board of Directors to think again and act responsibily concerning the following :
10/06/2020 - for the attention of Daniel Thwaites plc - invoice number : 26687 has missed the deadline for payment by the due date - hence the reason for this default notice - to avoid further notices please ensure all outstanding invoices are paid in the not too distant future!
A quick word about Richard Bailey at Daniel Thwaites Plc.
If there are any employees that Thwaites shareholders should consider as one of the main culprits for this publicly aired debacle then the finger of suspicion points at their Executive Chairman, Richard Bailey. Some 6 weeks have passed since he received the second Creditor’s letter and the response has been woefully absent which has done nothing to help Daniel Thwaites cause in this matter.

Thwaites 1st Complaint ... My family and I were looking for somewhere to eat in in Settle when we came across the Hartshead. From the outside the place looked very nice so we decided to give it a try. We went in and got shown to our table. The table was already set but the glasses were grubby and one water tumbler had what seemed like mould on it. We then waited about 20 minutes for our drink orders to be taken, by this time we had decided on what we were having from the menu so we ordered both drinks and food at the same time. About another 10 minutes went by until our drinks arrived. We were served with two flat cokes and a flat lemonade. I wanted to tell the waiter the drinks were flat but he wasn’t very attentive so I took my coke to the bar to complain. I was told they would bring some more over. After a little while longer the waiter brought us some more drinks and they were just as flat as the last. On complaining again I was told it was the best they could do. An hour in and all we had be given was flat drinks and bad service so we decided to leave.
Thwaites 2nd Complaint ... Ordered a Fillet Steak and Chips, absolutely disgusting, steak must have been 3 week old and frozen, chips were lumpy i thought i was eating a jacket potato, they gave me a free pudding which i didn't like coz it was luke warm. I didn't want to even pay £20 for a vile frozen Fillet Steak that i ate a mouthful of, really wouldn't recommend very poor and chef needs to go training again unsure of where he learned to cook.
Thwaites 3rd Complaint ... Went In for a family meal last Sunday, we were all very disappointed. The food in particular was extremely poor the roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were so hard it was impossible to cut into them. After informing the waitress of the problem she promptly said she would inform the chef and within minutes a large tray of Roast and Yorkshire puddings were removed from the heat lamps were they had obviously been dehydrating for many hours. Unfortunately we had no apology. In general food was substandard. We won't be visiting again.
